In the Heart of Sunset Country
Camp Stephens is located on a private island in the heart of beautiful Lake of the Woods, Ontario. Campers will depart from the Y Winnipeg West Portage branch in Winnipeg, Manitoba and take a 2.5 hour bus ride via highway coach east to Kenora, Ontario. From the Kenora Harbourfront, campers will travel to the Camp Stephens island via boat. Campers will return to Winnipeg using the same route.
Families also have the option to travel on their own to bring their camper directly to the Kenora Harbourfront and meet up with the bussed campers for the boat ride to the island. Families can also pick up their camper directly from the Kenora Harbourfront if they choose. Please note, campers can not access the island on their own and must arrive by Camp Stephens boat transport.
Facilities
The main buildings on the island consist of a dining hall, lodge, wellness centre, tripping depot as well as dedicated swim docks and watercraft launches.
Camper Cabins
Camper cabins are equipped with electricity, bunkbeds and storage space. A newly-built (2025) shower and washroom facility is centrally located a few steps from the camper cabins.
Activities
Never a shortage of activities at camp! Canoeing, kayaking, climbing, high rope adventures, swimming, water trampoline, gaga ball, mass games, campfires and more!
Canoe Trips
Our Wilderness Canoe groups will travel via 2 - 3 person canoes, sleep overnight at their campsites in 4 or 6 person tents and cook their meals by campfire.
