Due to rising credit card processing fees, effective March 4, 2024, the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg will no longer accept credit card payment for child care services.

All families that pay for child care via credit card must provide banking information for pre-authorized electronic cheque payments. Banking information can be provided by:

  • ActiveNet Self-Service Portal – Update your banking details online by logging into ActiveNet here. See online instructions and details on how to identify banking information for a cheque below.
  • Phone – Call the Child Care Registration Team at 204-831-3156.

Banking information must be provided by February 9, 2024 to ensure it is set up for processing by March 4, 2024. NSF and missed payments are subject to a fee. YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg is not responsible for NSF or any other bank fees.

Active Net Self-Service Portal Instructions

You can update your payment information online using the following steps.

  1. Please log-in to our online portal.
  2. If you have not accessed your account yet, use your email we have on file for the username and click on forgot password. The system will generate a temporary password for you and email it to you.
  3. Once you are logged in, click on My Account located at the upper right of the screen
  4. Under Payment and Order Management, click on Saved Credit Cards/ Electronic Checks If you are adding a new electronic Cheque, click Add New. If you are updating an existing electronic cheque, click on the Edit or Remove options.
  5. Once you have updated or added payment information, go back to the My Account page.
  6. Under Payment and Order Management, click on Change Auto-Charge Payments.
  7. Click on Edit in the Payment plan box.
  8. Choose the updated or new electronic cheque to be charged for the fees. Click Submit. Repeat process to all receipts that needs to have the payment updated.

Entering Banking Information from a Cheque

The Canadian routing number contains 8 digits, broken into a set of 5 digits followed a set of 3 digits, and can be found on your checks as shown below. You will need to reverse the order Of those two sets Of digits to come up with your correct 8-digit routing number. For example, if the routing number on your check appears as "12345678", you will enter it in the routing code field as "67812345".

The branch transit number, financial institution number, and bank account number are located at the bottom edge of the cheque. Branch transit numbers are always 5 digits long and financial institution numbers are always 3 digits long. Bank account numbers may be up to 12 digits long. Below is an example of a cheque:

So the routing number here is '99912345' and the account number is ' 456789012 ' The branch transit number and financial institution number are usually left of the bank account number.

Yes, you can continue to pay for your membership by credit card and only switch to debit for child care. Credit cards will continue to be accepted as a form of payment for membership, day camps and swim lessons.

Yes. Weekly, Bi-weekly or Monthly payments can be made in person at any of the four YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg Community Hub Membership Desks. Note only weekly payments can be scheduled automatically, alternate payment schedules must be made in person in advance of the payment due date. Post-dated cheques will not be accepted.
