Camper Subsidy
Camp Stephens is committed to providing camp experiences for all youth, regardless of economic circumstances. Financial assistance is available through the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg or the Sunshine Fund to families who are unable to pay the full camp fee.

Sunshine Fund
Campers also have the option to apply for financial assistance through the Manitoba Camping Association's Sunshine Fund.
To apply for the Sunshine Fund, download the camper subsidy application and contact the Sunshine Fund office at 204-784-1130. A representative from the Sunshine Fund will coordinate next steps in the application process with you. For more information, please visit the Manitoba Camping Association website

The amount of financial assistance will vary depending on family income. Once your application and financial information has been reviewed, a camp registrar will contact you directly to discuss payment options.
If you are currently receiving financial assistance from a Y Winnipeg program such as child care or membership, you can still apply for the camp subsidy program as long as your account is in good standing. Financial applications will not transfer between programs therefore you must complete a camp subsidy application and supply all necessary financial information.
Yes. You may apply for camp subsidy each year however a new application and financial information must be completed. The subsidy amount may vary from year to year depending on your current financial circumstances.
You can apply now! Applications can be approved before registration opens on Monday, January 8, 2024 if received early enough. Please note, subsidy pre-approval does not guarantee a camper a spot at Camp Stephens. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
