Learn Beyond the Classroom
Nestled on a private island in the heart of Lake of the Woods, Camp Stephens offers school groups of students aged 8-12 and their teachers unforgettable 3-day, 2-night overnight camp and wilderness canoe experiences.
Island Camp
Our energetic and caring Cabin Leaders guide students and teachers through exciting outdoor adventures, including a high ropes course, rock tower climbing, canoeing, kayaking, and group activities. Along the way, students build confidence, strengthen connections, and learn how to understand and care for our environment.
Island Camp students stay in rustic cabins with overnight supervision provided by Camp Stephens Cabin Leaders who hosts your student group for the duration of your stay. Teachers/chaperones stay in comfortable, dedicated teacher cabins.
All meals, snacks, and camp activities are provided.
Wilderness Canoe Trips
This 3-day/2-night canoe trip offers an adventurous introduction to overnight camping in the great outdoors. We provide a supportive environment to explore nature, learn paddling skills, and enjoy the thrill of the open water — perfect for first-time campers or those new to canoeing.
Senior trippers with extensive camp, canoe, counselling and first-aid experience lead students and teachers on a short route through Ontario's wilderness. Participants camp in overnight tents, cook their meals by campfire and paddle from campsite to campsite each day.
All equipment, tents and meals are included in the canoe experience.
Easy to Plan. Impossible to Forget.

Teacher Testimonial
Booking has always been simple and straightforward with minimal planning on our end. Student needs have always been accommodated (mobility, non-binary, medical, dietary) openly and honestly. Lastly, it's an amazing time for the teachers who get to see their students in a new environment without the pressures of running activities. We just get to be big kids too! Seriously, the best. - Tara Law, Grade 8 teacher, École George McDowell
