Wildfire Evacuee Support

As wildfires continue to impact communities across Manitoba, many individuals and families have been forced to leave their homes. In response, the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg is offering free access to all of our community hubs for those affected and we are working closely with the Canadian Red Cross and the City of Winnipeg to coordinate services and ensure we respond with compassion and care.

Ways You Can Help

As a charity, Y Winnipeg ignites the potential in people by helping them grow, lead, and give back to their communities. Your support can change lives, create opportunities and advance the well-being of the communities we serve by helping to develop healthy and successful people who in turn create a positive impact.

We bring light to our vision by helping children and youth find their spark, creating belonging, and helping people overcome the obstacles that prevent them from thriving mentally, physically and socially. Our mission includes breaking down barriers to inclusion to be a champion of people and extends beyond physical health by helping children learn and grow, supporting mental health, welcoming newcomers and empowering youth.

Igniting Potential in Our Community

Connecting Community through Recreation

Meet the Fekiri Family. Arriving from France in January 2023, Kamel and Cherifa came to Canada to give their five children educational opportunities, including the chance to learn English.

Shaping Bright Futures Comes Full Circle

From camper to camp counsellor, Juan Pablo (JP) Garcia wishes every kid could share his Camp Stephens experience.

Generations of Healthy Memories

The Y has been part of Alisa’s family for as long as she can remember. Her Mom and Dad both went to the Y as kids in the 1960s, took Alisa to the Y when she was a child...

Give Your Time

Volunteer at the Y

Work alongside our staff to make an impact in the community. We value the time and commitment of our volunteers in child care, community programs and our Health Fitness and Aquatics Centres. All volunteers are screened through a review process to ensure the safety of all vulnerable people in our facilities and programs.
