Flu Clinics Held November 3-6
Y Winnipeg is hosting FREE flu and COVID-19 clinics (in partnership with Walmart) at the Y to help keep our community healthy this season. It’s part of our commitment to supporting the wellbeing of everyone in Winnipeg. The vaccines are free, no appointment needed, open to everyone and it’s a great way to protect yourself and those around you.
- Monday, November 3: 10am-6pm, Downtown Y, 301 Vaughan St
- Tuesday, November 4: 10am-5:30pm, Elmwood-Kildonan Y, 454 Kimberly Ave
- Wednesday, November 5: 10am-6pm, South Y, 5 Fermor Ave
- Thursday, November 6: 10am-6pm, West Portage Y, 3550 Portage Ave
Attending a Y Winnipeg Flu Clinic
Vaccines are available to everyone (Y Membership is NOT required) ages 2+ with your Manitoba Health Card. Vaccinations are free and administered by a Walmart Pharmacist.
It is recommended to come wearing a short sleeve shirt or one that can be rolled up to expose the upper arm area. After receiving a vaccine, we ask you to wait in the area for 15 minutes to allow the pharmacist to monitor for any immediate allergic reactions.

The flu (influenza) is a contagious infection caused by influenza A and B viruses. If affects your nose, throat, and lungs. The flu can range from mild to severe, and sometimes leads to pneumonia, which may require hospitalization. In Canada, the flu and pneumonia are among the top 10 causes of death.
The flu spreads mainly through droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. It can also spread by touching surfaces (like door handles or keyboards) that have the virus on them. The flu virus can live on hard surfaces for up to 48 hours.
It is a yearly injection that helps you body build immunity against the influenza virus.
It lowers your risk of getting sick and helps protect people around you.
