At the Y, we believe fitness can be fun. We offer a multitude of sports and recreational options for you to be active, be social, and reconnect (or start fresh!) with an activity you love.

 

  • Preschool Sports & Rec. - Registered
  • Lil Sportsters (2 & 3 yrs)

    Created specifically for our youngest members from 2 – 3 years of age. A great way to introduce children to a variety of sports through fun games and activities. Under the direction of a Y Instructor, parents/guardians will guide children at a pace and level that is comfortable for them to develop confidence and physical literacy with an emphasis on play.

  • Gymnastics (4 - 5 yrs)

    Young gymnasts will have fun while learning fundamental movement and basic gymnastics taught by our trained instructors.

  • Kinder Gym (4 - 6 years)

    It's fun, active and exciting! With age-appropriate obstacle courses and interactive activities, this circuit-based program is designed to enhance fundamental movement skills and develop physical literacy. With an emphasis on play, this program provides children with the building blocks to lead active, healthy lives.

  • Preschool Playtime (0 - 5 yrs)

    Bring the little ones to enjoy some age-appropriate physical activities in our gym! Bouncy castle, obstacle course and preschool toys will be available at designated drop-in times for families at our Suburban branch locations.

    Run the court, pass the ball and shoot some hoops in this fun, active game of pickup basketball.

  • Gymnastics (6-8)

    A recreation-based program promoting the development of fundamental movement and gymnastics skills through progressive skill development using a variety of apparatus and routines.

  • Hip Hop

    Time to get your groove on! Kids will get their heart pumping through this modern dance class filled with popular dance steps seen in all the latest music videos. Under the guidance of a trained and experienced dance instructor, kids will explore hip hop dance techniques and moves, progressing to the showcase of a dance routine at the end of the session.

  • Jazz/Ballet

    Introduce your child to the fun and fitness of ballet and jazz dance! Under the guidance of an experienced dance instructor, kids will learn fundamental ballet and jazz techniques and moves, progressing to the showcase of a dance routine at the end of the session.

  • Soccer

    Come play the world’s most popular sport indoors! Dribble, pass and kick the ball in the gymnasium – a great way to get moving with this fun, active game and meet others while building confidence and teamwork skills.

  • Floor Hockey

    Channel your inner NHL pro! Give your child a chance to be active and have fun while playing Canada’s game in the gymnasium.

  • James Naismith Basketball

    Come shoot some hoops with us! This skill-development program is led by coaches that are NCCP Community Coach certified. While emphasizing fun and teamwork, kids are taught dribbling, passing and shooting skills in a recreational setting. Skills are taught progressively each week and are adjusted for varying skill levels.

  • Karate

    There is so much more to karate than wax-on, wax-off! Karate improves strength, coordination and agility while fostering courage, courtesy, self-control and respect. Participants will learn the fundamentals of karate movement and technique under the guidance of qualified black belt instructors.

  • Tae Kwon Do

    Kick, block, spar! Learn the basic techniques of Tae Kwon Do in a safe and fun atmosphere. Discipline, character, self-control and respect will be fostered under the guidance of qualified black belt instructors through skills that increase stamina, strength, focus and confidence.

  • Y Gym

    With age-appropriate obstacle courses and interactive activities, this circuit-based program is designed to enhance fundamental movement skills and develop physical literacy. With an emphasis on play, this program provides children with the building blocks to lead active, healthy lives

    Smash! This fun introduction to the game of badminton teaches kids basic skills and enhances coordination and agility while building confidence and self-esteem.

  • Family Fun (6 - 12 yrs)

    Join us on Sundays from 1pm to 3pm for Family Fun drop-in activities!  Come to the Y and bounce away in the inflatable bouncers, take a run through an obstacle course, shoot some hoops in our lowered baskets and more! Bring your swimsuit and enjoy our recreational swim times as well!

  • Kid's Corner (6 - 12 yrs)

    Choose your own adventure! Each week will bring a new, exciting activity as well as unstructured time designed to appeal to your child’s curiosity! They can pick between a variety of activities in one session, such as board games, crafts, lego, building blocks, colouring, beadwork, puzzles, books and more!

  • Dodgeball (6 - 12 yrs)

    Quick, duck! Give your kid a chance to be active while having a laugh through the game of dodgeball. Kids will keep moving and hone their reflexes while playing various renditions of this classic game.

  • Teen & Adult Sports & Rec. - Drop In
  • Badminton

    Come in and perfect your backhand! Drop-in and play some badminton against other members or bring a friend. Nets will be set up, and birdies and racquets are provided.

  • Recreational Sports (12 - 14 yrs)

    Drop-in and participate in a different recreation sport each week, Basketball, Volleyball, Floor Hockey, Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee and more! Improve physical fitness and have fun while socializing with friends

  • Basketball

    Basketball was invented by a Canadian at the YMCA and it’s still going strong! Basketball hoops are open for members or non-members (with a drop-in fee) in our gymnasiums at varying times throughout the day and week.  Check out the dates, times and locations.
