Camp provides a wealth of life experiences kids may never be exposed to in any other single setting.
Our camp program:
- allows children to grow personally and socially through unique activities and group living.
- nurtures children’s independence, self-confidence, leadership abilities and interpersonal relationships.
Like many non-profits, our program fees are subsidized and do not fully support annual operating costs. We rely on contributions to help bridge the gap, to make camp more affordable, to strengthen programs and to enhance facilities.
Through your generosity, you are bringing families together, building character in youth and fostering lifelong friendships.
About Camp Stephens
A legendary summer camp nestled on an island in the Lake of the Woods, Camp Stephens has delivered a fun, adventurous and safe environment to thousands of children.
The YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg is greatly saddened by the passing of Graham Lount, a great friend and supporter of Camp Stephens, the YMCA-YWCA and Winnipeg. As a testament of his gratitude for the years he spent at Camp Stephens as a young man, Mr. Lount was behind the development of Lount Lodge on Camp Stephens’ Copeland Island. Due to his generosity, thousands of children have been able to experience and enjoy camp.
