About Us
The Place for Everyone

For over 125 years, the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg has provided thousands of children and adults with programs and services dedicated to personal growth and community development.

The Y is best known for our work with youth and in promoting health, but we also provide opportunities for people to develop leadership skills, philanthropic attitudes and a global perspective – many of the tools needed for value-based personal development.

We are the province’s largest childcare provider and offer a rich learning experience of camp to 5,000 youth each year.

Our employment training and women’s programs are sought after by more than 4,000 people.

More importantly, the Y, and all that we offer, is accessible to everyone, regardless of ability to pay.

. Welcoming Individuals & Communities

The Y helps individuals develop a responsibility for self, community and the world, a spirit of volunteerism and respect for all, regardless of race, religion or economic circumstance.

. Strengthening Our Youth

Our youth programs build leadership skills, philanthropic attitudes and a global perspective. Over 5,000 youth attend our camps every year.

. Promoting Childcare

We are also Canada’s largest childcare service provider, with day camps and other activities for children up to the age of 12.

. Employment, Training & Women's Programs

More than 4,000 people a year take part in our women’s programs and employment training.

Most importantly, the Y offers its services to everyone, regardless ability to pay.
